The boys swimming and diving team came out strong during the OHSAA Sectional swim meet. The 200 Medley Relay (Dusman, Marshall, Mays, Ramey) placed 10th with a time of 2:09.18. In the 200 Freestyle, Christian Hoch placed 19th with a time of 2:00.33, Garrett Marshall placed 28th with a time of 2:22.61 and Noah Carter placed 31st with a time of 2:32.38. Ty Walker placed 16th in the 200 IM with a time of 2:27.07. Derek Harlock placed 13th with a time of 23.31, Chris Carney placed 22nd with a time of 24.41, and Will Mays placed 39th with a time of 28.98. Andrew Dusman placed 24th in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:06.69 ,Ty Walker placed 26th with a time of 1:09.37, and Will Mays placed 30th with a time of 1:14.75. Chris Carney placed 20th in the 100 Freestyle 54.57 and Luke Ramey placed 40th with a time of 1:14.76. In the 500 Freestyle, Christian Hoch placed 12th and a set a new school record with his time of 5:20.50. The previous time was a 5:23.62 set in 2008. Noah Carter placed 27th with a time of 6:44.85. In the 200 Freestyle Relay, Derek Harlock, Christian Hoch, Ty Walker, and Chris Carney, placed 6th with a time of 1:37.57. Derek Harlock placed 11th in the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.96, Andrew Dusman placed 16th with a time of 1:01.49, and Luke Ramey placed 31st with a time of 1:23.49. In the 100 Breaststroke, Garrett Marshall placed 30th with a time of 1:22.47. In the final event of the meet, the excitement kicked in. Derek Harlock lead off the 400 Freestyle Relay with by swimming a 51.44 100 Freestyle. His relay lead off split broke the school 100 Freestyle record which was a 51.64 set in 2009. Derek Harlock, Christian Hoch, Ty Walker, and Chris Carney brought the relay home with a time of 3:35.39 breaking the school record! The previous 400 freestyle record was set in 2013 with a time of 3:37.57.
